Collingwood Historic Art is the home of military history, historical drama and deeply realistic fine art paintings.
Chris Collingwood, a fine artist working in traditional ways based in Devon, UK, is a master of military art. His work ranges from panoramic battle scenes, to multi-image historical portraits and unique single portrayals of the ‘ordinary soldier’ in every historical age.
Over forty years as a professional artist, Chris has portrayed almost every historical topic; Roman legions, medieval knights, Civil War harquebusiers, pirates and buccaneers of the Golden Age, Napoleonic cavalrymen, redcoats in Zululand, and British Tommie's on the Western Front, to name just a few.
Chris strives for lasting visual impact and exacting historical detail, producing paintings which are rich in accuracy and period feel. Most importantly, he paints without the use of any digital imagery or AI.
Chris paints in the traditional manner of the old masters he so admires, working with oils and canvas to create unique commissions for clients around the globe.
